Come join the DMVA team, apply today! DESCRIPTION OF WORKOur enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days a week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them to participate in exciting activities, you will play a huge role in their day. Through this day-to-day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care. This position is a starting step to a Nurse Aide position. Upon completion of an 8-hour training course, as well as successfully passing the competency exam, the 16-hour classroom course, and an 80-hour orientation program you will promote to a Nurse Aide. Full-time employment (8-hours/day; 40-hours/week)
Work hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), including rotating days and weekends. Once classes begin you will work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday for roughly a month and a half. Upon graduation, you will resume working 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), including rotating days and weekends.
Lunch Period: 30-minutes
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Willing to work in the city of Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania
Willing to work full-time on 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), including rotating days and weekends. This schedule will be implemented after certification is obtained, following a 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift classroom orientation.
Completion of an 8-hour online training course at AHCA Education (https://educate.ahcancal.org/products/temporary-nurse-aide-8-hr-course-available-until-1200-am-et-on-june-6th#tab-producttabcourseoverview)) prior to hire, and providing a certificate of completion is preferred, but not required.
Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
