THE POSITIONIf you have experience with horses, consider joining the Department of Agriculture as a Livestock Worker at Meadows Racetrack. Your position involves assisting veterinarians to handle horses, recording data, and collecting samples to ensure that the rules, regulations, and policies of the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission are being followed. By working in this role, you can combine your passion for horses with a rewarding career in the horse racing industry. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Livestock Worker 1, you will be tasked with confirming the identity of racehorses using tattoo identification, overseeing designated horses, collecting urine samples, managing and verifying sample kits, maintaining cleanliness in work and barn areas, and assisting in other crucial farm operations. Your experience in livestock care and your passion for animal well-being will be instrumental in your success in this role. Interested in learning more? Part-time employment
Work hours are 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Wednesday - Saturday, with 30-minute lunch.
The work schedule is vendor controlled and may change as determined by the racing schedule.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Post employment Requirement:
A Commission Employee License is required for this position once hired.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
