The Whistling Duck is currently recruiting a highly motivated and experienced chef / Kitchen Manager for our restaurant. It will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and will have a “grab and go” outlet. With approximately 50 seats we anticipate a busy, less formal, lunch period followed by more formal dinner service. This establishment will be a Charcuterie Wine bar offering fresh boards, Bruschetta platters, Salads, Sandwiches as well as dinner specials. The lunch and dinner menu will consist of items that are relatively familiar to guests and designed to be served quickly but can also be slowed down for a romantic dinner spot.
Ideal candidate should possess:
A Passion for food
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail
Must have kitchen management experience
An ability to work well under pressure
Good customer service skills
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Menu and recipe development for lunch, dinner and “grab and go” options
Recruiting and managing kitchen staff and ensuring their success through proper training techniques
Sourcing and purchasing product. Establishing and maintaining relationships with local farms and suppliers.
Food and kitchen labor cost control
Maintaining exceptional food quality standards
Contribute to increased guest satisfaction ongoing including a high-degree of guest interaction
Cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant and surrounding areas
