Tooling & Equipment Engineer

As the Tooling & Equipment Engineer you will plan, design, and execute electrical engineering and controls work associated with all aspects of manufacturing and process equipment, including custom integration and purchased machinery, by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  (Other duties may be assigned). Provide controls and electrical engineering design and programming for custom machine applications including hardware integration, electrical BOM, and schematicsSupport continuous improvement activities with controls solutions based on general guidelines from plant engineering groupsFacilitate troubleshooting and repair of equipment with maintenance, quality, and operations departmentsEnsure machine safety by reading and interpreting relevant codes and modifying or updating internal design protocols along with modifying existing equipment as neededControl all programs and electrical equipment drawings and ensure current revisions are available for the maintenance staffSupport New Products teams by collaborating with equipment engineers and project teams for testing solutions as well as providing air decay programs and initial parameter settings for new productsProvide guidance and technical solutions for Process Engineering and Quality Engineering initiativesSupport integration of manufacturing equipment with quality systems and visual factory initiatives, leading hardware and logic changes at the machine/cell levelCompile, prepare, and present data for project updates and presentationsIdentify and lead strategic projects and improvement opportunities for the facilityDevelop business case and Capital Expenditure Requests for the purchase of replacement controls hardware, including updating PLCs and HMIs
