ResponsibilitiesThe Coordinator demonstrates mastery of the specific knowledge and skills required for a specialty in nursing. Under the direction of the Director of Neuroscience Operations, the coordinator is responsible and accountable for the development and application of standards and evidence-based practice to enhance the quality of care to the patient and family. The Coordinator’s primary function is that of an expert with essential education, consultant, research and managerial role components. Serves as the clinical resource in providing direct and indirect care for patients aimed at optimizing patient assessment, continuity of care, education, and facilitation of on-going treatment. Serves as primary contact for physicians, referring physicians, hospitals, patients and families to facilitate the collaboration and coordination of patient care services to provide the highest level of care possible. Provides leadership for the Stroke Committee. Responsible for reporting all performance measurements and quality initiatives.QualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceAssociate or Bachelor’s degreeGraduate of an accredited nursing programRequired Licensure and CertificationsNursing licenseBLSACLSNIHSS CertificationRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and TrainingBSN or Master’s Degree. Certification in specialty or related area preferred.
