If you have a hunger to learn and a desire to solve the most challenging environmental and regulatory issues our clients have to offer, we encourage you to learn more about ICF (www.icf.com) and apply to join our team.         ICF is seeking an Environmental Project Manager and Wetland Field Lead with a strong wetland or biology background to join our rapidly-growing Texas-based practice. The successful candidate would be given immediate opportunities to serve clients while partnering with and learning from highly talented exceptional biologists, archaeologists, geospatial experts, and senior project managers. The candidate would also leverage their technical expertise and regulatory understanding to conduct, oversee, and review wetland delineations and biological surveys for renewable energy projects, water infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, and other clients. Our local headquarters is in Austin, TX and we have teams in San Antonio and Houston. Due to the location of field work and the value of understanding local species and regulations, Texas-based candidates are strongly preferred. Why you will love working here:

What you will be doing: 

Managing or deputy managing projects involving a wide range of technical field studies, analyses, and regulatory and permitting tasks

Supporting project directors with client management, project documentation, scheduling, scoping, and budgeting  

Preparing proposals and support marketing efforts for energy, water, or infrastructure clients

Providing expertise and technical iInput to project managers on complex projects involving Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, federal and state laws, and agency consultations

Leading, mentoring, and training junior staff and teams of technical specialists, with a focusn wetlands and waters of the U.S., both in the field and in the (virtual) office 

Leading and performing wetland delineations and functional assessments  

Assessing impacts, preparing technical reports and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 404/10 permit applications and mitigation plans  

Leading and performing plant and wildlife habitat assessments/surveys  

What you need to have (minimum requirements):  

BS in Biology, Natural Resource Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field 

10+ years of experience in environmental consulting or applicable fields (government, consulting, academia) 

What we would like you to have (preferred requirements):  

Experience managing or conducting studies for renewable energy, water, and/or infrastructure clients, overseeing technical studies and providing regulatory guidance

Experience coordinating and leading field efforts, strategically staffing projects, and conducting studies for renewable energy, water, and/or infrastructure clients

Technical writing skills and ability to review, QA/QC, and provide feedback to technical staff

Experience working with resource agencies and developing complex environmental and regulatory strategies 

Strong knowledge of environmental consulting practices and environmental law  

Certification as a Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB) and/or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) a plus  

Business-minded with an eye towards client engagement and market growth
