As the platform team we build the backbone of the Amazon Flex App, supporting 12+ feature teams, hundreds of thousands of transporters and millions of deliveries. Our on-call rotation is carefully managed, and rarely involves work outside of office hours, as we have a low defect rate and don't own any backend services.Basic Qualifications
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
3+ years of AWS cloud-native development utilizing CDK or other similar Infrastructure-as-Code libraries
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Expertise with React, React-tangential libraries and constructs, HTML, CSS and ECMAScript14.
Expertise with Java and common Java libraries (eg Spring)
Experience with React state management libraries (eg Redux)
Understanding of performance optimization, accessibility and internationalization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written & verbal communication and collaboration skills.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Ideal candidate has experience with real time communication and chat applications, globally distributed, utilizing AWS services.
