The Parts Specialist picks up and delivers parts to company sites, spending approximately 75% of the time driving. This position also performs clerical and organizational functions in the parts department, including monitoring stock locations, issuing parts to maintenance personnel, ordering supplies from vendors and recording data to ensure the department is able to maintain the fleet in safe operating condition.
High school diploma or its equivalent
Must be able to be forklift-certified by the company
Must have attention to detail
Must work well independently
Ability to accurately identify and retrieve correct parts
Ability to organize parts and use software to track pick-ups and deliveries
Should have strong inventory and data entry skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools – e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Demonstrated familiarity with the laws and regulations concerning the safe operation of maintenance facilities
Must be able to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize workload and deal with time pressures to deliver parts on time
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and vendors to address questions and resolve issues
Diesel mechanical background
Local delivery experience
Experience working in a wholesale or automotive warehouse with parts for up to class 8 trucks and equipment inventory departments
