We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to our legal team. The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the legal department, assisting with various administrative and legal tasks.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

Managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.

Answering and directing phone calls, managing mail, and handling other correspondence.

Preparing and managing legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and discovery requests.

Maintaining organized files, both physical and electronic.

Processing invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.

Legal Support:

Conducting legal research using online databases and other resources.

Assisting with the preparation of legal documents, such as contracts, wills, and other legal instruments.

Proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness.

Corresponding with clients, courts, and other legal professionals.

Assisting with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness materials.

Client Communication:

Communicating with clients professionally and courteously.

Gathering information from clients and maintaining client confidentiality.

Providing updates to clients on the status of their cases.

Other Duties:

Performing other administrative and legal tasks as assigned by attorneys.

Maintaining a strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology.

Staying up-to-date on changes in the law and legal practices.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documents.

Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
