About Us

At Texas Drift Academy, we build, maintain, and operate high-performance drift and performance cars for enthusiasts, students, and professional drivers. Our team is passionate about precision engineering, motorsport craftsmanship, and pushing the limits of what cars—especially Nissans—can do on the track.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Mechanic with a focus on import performance vehicles (especially Nissan platforms such as 350Z, 370Z, S-chassis, and Skyline). The ideal candidate has a mix of mechanical expertise, hands-on fabrication or build experience, and a flexible, team-oriented mindset.

You’ll work on a range of projects including:

Routine maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles

Diagnostics and troubleshooting

Engine swaps, performance upgrades, and suspension tuning

Supporting our instructors and drivers at events and track days

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on performance vehicles (with emphasis on Nissan platforms)

Assist in custom builds including engine swaps, clutch upgrades, and tuning setups

Maintain accurate service records and parts usage

Collaborate with build leads and drivers to meet project deadlines

Travel to tracks or partner locations for on-site maintenance and support (occasional travel required)

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

3–5 years of professional automotive mechanical experience (import experience strongly preferred)

Deep familiarity with Nissan vehicles (Z chassis, SR/LS swaps, etc.)

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (OBD-II, electrical, and mechanical)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexible schedule, with willingness to travel as needed

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

Fabrication, welding, or tuning experience a plus

What We Offer

Competitive pay based on experience

Opportunities for growth into lead tech or shop foreman roles

Hands-on access to track builds and performance projects

A creative, motorsport-focused environment surrounded by car enthusiasts

Track time and opportunity to also be a drift coach
