We are seeking a highly skilled Tax/Senior Accountant with strong experience in Form 941 filings, payroll tax compliance, and corporate tax preparation. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the staffing industry is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file Form 941, state payroll tax returns, and quarterly/annual payroll reports
Oversee all payroll tax processes, ensuring timely and accurate tax deposits
Prepare corporate tax returns (federal and state), including year-end filings
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Assist with audits, responding to inquiries from IRS and state tax authorities
Analyze financial data and provide detailed reporting to leadership
Recommend improvements for accounting processes and internal controls
Support CFO/Controller with additional accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
5+ years of tax accounting experience (corporate & payroll)
Strong knowledge of 941 filings, payroll taxes, state/federal tax regulations, and corporate tax preparation
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities
CPA or CPA-track preferred (not required)
Preferably experience in the staffing industry
