Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The VP, Fair Lending Leader is responsible for leading a team of fair lending professionals responsible for providing functional fair lending oversight for Credit, Collections, Operations, Growth, Client Development & Sales, and strategic partnerships. This position will perform Fair Lending assessments and monitoring, partner with the business leaders to identify and mitigate potential Fair Lending risks, and ensure that employees are appropriately trained to comply with Fair Lending requirements. The VP, Fair Lending Leader will also develop and oversee the development and implementation of necessary fair lending program elements to ensure the continuous improvement and ongoing success of the Fair Lending Program.We're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Oversee team of individuals responsible for providing functional fair lending oversight for Credit, Collections, Growth, Operations, Client Development & Sales, and strategic partnerships;
Oversee fair lending oversight of complaint monitoring;
Support the Fair Lending Program Framework by owning and completing the fair lending risk assessment and providing employee training on identification of fair lending risk for the functions and/or processes this role supports;
Serve as a subject matter expert in Fair Lending laws and regulations and lead continued enhancement, communication and execution of the strategy for a comprehensive, risk-based Fair Lending Program appropriate for the size and complexity of the Bank;
Ensure accountability for the design and implementation of required Fair Lending Program elements, including: policy and procedures, risk assessment practices, monitoring and testing, training, customer complaint practices, and reporting and escalation
Work collaboratively with the Legal Department and relevant executive and senior business leaders to identify fair lending risk associated with new and existing laws and regulations, products, processes, systems, clients and acquisitions
Supervise, mentor and develop the Fair Lending Team providing training to the team as well as to colleagues within the Risk and Compliance organization regarding fair lending principles and emerging risks;
Assist in the development of internal/external Fair Lending communications and training materials to educate business leaders, employees and third party suppliers regarding Fair Lending requirements including, where appropriate, customized training for certain job roles;
Support the SVP, Fair and Responsible Banking with respect to fair lending components of any Internal Audits and Supervisory Agency compliance examinations, including any requested information and communication with regulators
Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of work experience in the financial services industry or, in lieu of degree, 10+ years of financial services experience
5+ years of experience with exposure to fair lending principles and regulatory hot topics within the consumer credit/private label credit card industry
5+years of coordinating cross-functional teams and/or managing a team
5+ years of successful work in a matrixed environment, leading projects and presenting results to senior leaders
Desired Characteristics:
Industry certification such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
Excellent communication and influencing skills to coordinate with multiple functional areas and independently present explanations of complex subjects to senior management and partner with teams throughout the company
Ability to objectively identify risks, effectively challenge and communicate fair lending risks
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be forward-thinking in the identification of future risks and work cross-functionally to mitigate identified risks
Grade/Level: 14The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
