This position will also have Order Board Manager responsibilities. In this role you will report to the Senior Manager of Sales and Operations Planning and will be primarily responsible for supporting customer inquires for order lead time, and managing new orders. You will also be responsible to develop an industry and sales forecast and recommend a production schedule. As a member of the team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can’t wait for you to join the team!What You Will Do:As the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Coordinator for surface mining drills you will:
Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries; providing feedback about lead time, planned timeline, order change, order reschedules, etc.
Manage and communicate ready to ship dates
Analyze the industry demand to recommend an optimized factory production schedule.
Align customers order with sales production plan to achieve the monthly goal.
Supervise and control new sales orders, identifying the key elements and communicate downstream for required actions.
Forecast business results and identity risks and opportunities.
Degree Requirement:Degree or equivalent experience desiredWhat Skills You Will Have:Demand Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of Demand Management; ability to effectively sense, predict, plan for and manage the demand for products and services.Level Extensive Experience: Compares and contrasts alternative approaches and tools for demand management. Develops, implements and evaluates demand management program goals and KPIs. Participates in establishing procedures for planning, implementing and monitoring demand management strategies. Reviews reports used for demand management to find and fix related problems.Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.Level Extensive Experience: Advises on advanced data gathering and analysis methodologies and technologies. Oversees data gathering and analysis activities within the organization. Documents sources and validates the accuracy of data analysis by evaluating the pros and cons of data analysis methods used. Implements procedures and policies within a data processing function.Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Level Extensive Experience: Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts. Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies. Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.Level Extensive Experience: Monitors effectiveness of sales and production forecasting systems; adjusts as necessary. Integrates input from diverse sources to produce demand forecasts for multiple products or regions.
