Great growth opportunity.Department highlights:· Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth· Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team· Fast-Paced, high-volume department averaging 200 patients/day· The professional paramedic exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.What You Will DoProvides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation:· Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. All IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient· Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record· Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs· Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices· Cervical collar management· External defibrillation· Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application· Oral airway insertion and removal· Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access· Draw blood from ports· Other duties as assigned by RNAdditional perks of being a Texas Health Paramedic· Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice.· Strong Unit Based Council (UBC).· A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth.Texas Health Alliance is a 151-bed, full-service hospital serving our community since 2012.
