Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are searching for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing industry, based in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate accounts payable records, handling vendor invoices, and resolving various AP inquiries from different locations and vendors. This position provides an opportunity for a long term contract employment.Responsibilities: Manage and maintain all necessary accounts payable records and reports. Handle the import or scan of electronic/hard-copy vendor invoices into the Accounts Payable workflow process. Utilize Kofax Capture optical character recognition software platform for accurate invoice data input. Conduct basic and intermediate research functions within SAP software and electronic Accounts Payable workflow software (VIM) respectively. Manage and resolve AP inquiries from plant locations and outside vendors efficiently. Handle various AP functions including the 1099 function, vendor maintenance requirements, and processing of invoices outside of VIM. Oversee all payment-related functions (Check, ACH, Wire) including the voiding of checks in SAP. Responsible for maintaining compliance with AP policies and adhering to company DOA (delegation of authority). Participate in monthly closings as necessary.Requirements Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), including the processing of invoices and monitoring of payments. Knowledge of (ACH) transactions, with the ability to manage electronic transfers and direct deposits. Proficiency in using SAP software for managing financial data and transactions.
