The Process Engineer IV serves as a technical lead for process design on projects of varying size and complexity. This role is responsible for overseeing process engineering scope, ensuring technical quality, and supporting delivery across all project phases—from conceptual design through construction and startup.The Process Engineer IV applies advanced knowledge of process systems, including fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and material and energy balances, to develop and review design deliverables and ensure alignment with client requirements and industry standards. This role collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-disciplinary project teams, clients, vendors, and construction partners.The Process Engineer IV is also responsible for planning and prioritizing work, supporting project execution, and providing technical guidance to engineering staff. This includes reviewing work for accuracy and completeness, contributing to problem-solving efforts, and helping to drive project outcomes that meet client expectations, schedule, and budget.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and resolve non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveysInterface with clients and external partners to support project execution and deliverablesPlan, prioritize, and direct discipline work, including management of process engineering scope, schedule, and budget on complex projectsPartner with the Project Manager to support proposal development, man-hour planning, and discipline-specific project schedulingDevelop construction drawing packages and specifications for complex projects with minimal oversightSupport and lead construction-phase activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, developing punch lists, and contributing to construction progress reportingPerform and/or review engineering calculations and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and overall project qualityLead process system design efforts, including programming, master planning, and facility layout developmentProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers (Engineer I/II, Designer I/II)Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, vendors, and construction partners to support project executionAdditional responsibilities may include:Site selection and site due diligence supportMaster planning and capacity planning/expansion strategy developmentFacility layout and process flow developmentVendor package coordination for complex or novel systemsParticipation in risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, HACCP, or similar)3D model review and coordinationSupport for field walkdowns and development of field reportsOversight of commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities
