Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role primarily involves ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained, providing management with financial analysis, and assisting with monthly closings. This role is within the power generation industry and requires a proficient understanding of GAAP, accounting schemes, and industry practices.Responsibilities: Execute month-end activities to ensure accurate accounting records Coordinate with various teams for accurate transactions Comply with internal timelines to maintain efficient operations Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports Verify day-to-day financial transactions and perform balance sheet reconciliations Maintain fixed assets and ensure they are accurately represented in financial statements Provide support for audits to ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards Assist in crafting financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and comply with US GAAP Carry out technical accounting research to stay updated with the latest industry practices Devise additional financial reports to provide comprehensive financial analysis Support for annual budgeting and in developing interactive dashboards to visualize financial data Monitor expenditures and revamp procedures to enhance financial efficiency. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant Proficiency in GAAP Accounting is mandatory Experience in Monthly Close activities Familiarity with Annual Physical Inventory processes Expertise in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Ability to perform Adjusting Journal Entries and Monthly Journal Entries Proficiency in Posting Journal Entries Experience in handling Manufacturing Variance, Monthly Variance, and Cost Variance Knowledge of Fixed Assets management Strong skills in Financial Reporting Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
