Logistics Lead

Overview:Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.Here's what you'll do:Coordinates loaders to cover expected pick-up appointmentsEnsure forklift activities are completed in a safe mannerStudies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedulesOversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipmentsDetermines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and determines lay out patterns of shipmentsDetermines routing and legal load limits of trucks. Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specificationsInspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenanceDirects movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areasPrepares bills of lading. Issues written and oral instruction to subordinatesMaintains productive work environment by encouraging team members, providing constructive feedback and setting attainable expectationsOversee preparation of production plan. This report is generated several times a dayGive logistic leadership vision of upcoming pack needs for major retailersCoordinate with shipping the rotation of inventoryWork with Customer Service if they have questions regarding product availabilityHas an understanding of quality trigger dates and quality standards to ensure inbound/outbound inspections are completed
