High school diploma or equivalent and currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree
2 or more years of relevant undergraduate coursework
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Strong computer skills and familiarity with administrative processes
Understanding of information security, IT systems, and networking concepts
Preferred qualifications:
Background or education in a related field (Cyber Security, IT, Software Engineering)
Strong data analysis skills, including querying and reporting (Python, Jupyter Labs, PowerBI/Looker)
Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
Ability to be open-minded and receptive to feedback in an intellectually rigorous environment
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve problems
Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
Great verbal and written communication skills
About the Tech Program Intern III (Information Security) jobWhat you’ll do on a typical day:
Help implement information security processes to protect the company against the breach of protected information and unauthorized intrusion into our network and systems.
You will focus on Security Engineering and Architecture with an additional focus on cyber threat hunting, vulnerability discovery, pen testing, offensive security, risk management and threat intelligence monitoring.
Learn how various cybersecurity teams work, from security engineering to cyber intelligence and everything in between
Gain hands-on experience with network, edge, and endpoint protection tools; learn how these events are correlated into a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) program, and how we leverage vulnerability data and cyber intelligence to find and remediate potential issues
Learn all aspects of a security organization while collaborating with security engineers, the Security Operation Center (SOC) analysts, incident responders, forensics analysts, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and more
Participate in the day-to-day health monitoring and security engineering operations as they troubleshoot XPO’s security tool stack
Participate in reporting metrics, writing technical documentation, and learning to utilize cutting-edge enterprise-level security tools to hunt threats
Learn and participate in the core functionality of each team that you work with
Become familiar with Next Generation Protection (firewalls, endpoint), how to use various security tools, vulnerability scanning tools, and cyber intelligence tools
