Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the Metal Fabrication industry based in Pasadena, Texas. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play an integral role in ensuring the financial operations of our businesses run smoothly. You will primarily be responsible for handling the accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks for two of our businesses, ensuring correct allocation of invoices and payments across different locations and companies.Key responsibilities: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for specific businesses, ensuring invoices are allocated to the correct company and paid with the correct checks. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate customer credit records and monitor customer accounts. Handle the distribution of mail received for multiple companies, identifying the correct recipient and ensuring delivery. Reconcile monthly vendor statements and credit card deposits for specific businesses, following up on discrepancies as needed. Communicate with store employees and vendors to collect necessary purchase orders and invoices. Process weekly payroll for specific businesses, including checking hours, processing payroll stubs, and cutting checks. Load customer invoices from the previous week and process weekly vendors' invoices and payments. Manage reception duties, including answering phones, greeting guests, and handling mail distribution. File necessary paperwork and follow up on reconciliations and statements. This role requires the use of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) skills. Requirements Applicant must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Metal Fabrication industry Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment High level of integrity and trustworthiness Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferable.
