The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.ResponsibilitiesEducates and trains patient escort staff to ensure competency and/or dispatching for the department; must ensure thatequipment is operational, safe and functioning according to hospital standards; will maintain quality assurance monitorsto evaluate the quality of service provided to patients, communicate effectively with management and take on aleadership role.

Become familiar and utilize the Bed Central system and back‐up process for coordinating patient transports and

discharges.

Must be able to assist and transport patients during staff shortages.

Assign trips to patient escort pagers through Bed Central.

Answer a busy phone while maintaining an error tracking log.

Maintain a steady flow of communication between the Transportation staff, Supervisors, Unit Secretaries and Nurse

Managers.

Report any conflicts immediately to the supervisor/manager.

Performs other duties when requested.
