Posting InformationPosition TitleAssistant Professor of Instruction in School PsychologyJob Posting Number2025002NTLJob LocationSan MarcosCollege/DivisionCollege of EducationDepartment/SchoolConslng, Ldrship, Adlt Educ & Schl PsychPosition DescriptionTheSchool Psychology program (https://www.txst.edu/clas/schoolpsychology.html) at Texas State University seeks an energetic colleague to organize and teach in our School Psychology Spanish-English Bilingual Program.This Assistant Professor of Instruction position will include teaching core classes with a particular focus in psychoeducational assessment, social-emotional assessment, multicultural issues in school psychology, and assessment of culturally and linguistically diverse students in a National Association of School Psychologist ( NASP ) approved Specialist in School Psychology program.In addition to teaching graduate courses, specific duties will include building and facilitating the School Psychology Bilingual Program, providing clinical supervision of practicum and internship students in our campus-based clinic and in schools, advising and mentoring students, and engaging in service to the program.This position is subject to the availability of funds.Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree from a recognized program approved by NASP or the American Psychological Association (conferred on or before August 15, 2025)

A professional clinical license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (Texas license for School Psychologist) or Licensed Psychologist, or license eligible)

Demonstrated professional proficiency in the Spanish language

Experience working with children who are English Language Learners, including in Spanish

Demonstrated clinical or teaching interest in multicultural school psychology

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in School Psychology

Certification as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist ( NCSP )

A documented record of securing external funding for research, training, or program support

Experience teaching core courses in a NASP or APA approved program in the teaching areas listed above

Experience working in university-based clinics

Experience with the supervision of practicum and internship students

Experience advising and mentoring students
