Description We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Accounts Payable Accountant in the retail industry, located in Southlake, Texas. As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, processing vendor payments, and handling client inquiries. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage vendor invoice processing and check requests, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Conduct thorough reviews and audits of expense report submissions for coding accuracy and compliance with T& E policies. Maintain comprehensive vendor files, including the review of W9s for accurate 1099 classification. Assist in the preparation of account, vendor, and other financial reconciliations as required. Handle vendor and employee inquiries, determining the appropriate course of action and escalating to the Accounting Manager when necessary. Compose written and verbal correspondence to both internal customers and external vendors. Manage credit card programs, including the review and coding of activity. Oversee the preparation of reimbursable expense trackers and invoices for assigned clients. Handle vendor maintenance, invoice coding and input, manual payments, and possibly check runs. Utilize strong Excel proficiency to create and use pivot tables, vlookups, and SumIfs. Possibly manage Fixed Assets, once AP is settled. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience working as an Accounts Payable Accountant in the retail industry. Profound knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures. Strong understanding of general ledger systems and procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of management. Understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines. Willingness to work extended hours when required.
