About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Manager to lead and manage production operations for a small but growing cannabis manufacturing facility. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the entire production life cycle—from pre-roll assembly to packaging and labeling—and help shape our operational foundation. Initially, this will be a one-person operation, with the expectation that the Production Manager will build, train, and manage a team as demand grows.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Oversee and execute all production activities, including pre-roll filling, packaging in glass tubes, jar filling, and product labeling.
Maintain consistent quality control and ensure compliance with all Vermont Cannabis Control Board (CCB) regulations.
Monitor supply usage, track production runs, and maintain accurate records.
Facility Management
Open and close the production facility each day, ensuring security, cleanliness, and readiness for operations.
Manage inventory of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
Maintain equipment and request repairs or replacements as needed.
Back-Office & Compliance
Maintain production logs, batch records, and labeling compliance documentation.
Work closely with management to prepare production reports and meet supplier needs.
Support scheduling, order tracking, and coordination with suppliers.
Leadership
Train new production staff on processes, safety, and compliance.
Manage day-to-day workflow of production staff when brought on.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or cannabis operations REQUIRED.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality.
Comfortable balancing hands-on production work with administrative tasks.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a start-up environment.
Knowledge of cannabis compliance requirements a plus (training provided).
Must be 21+ and able to pass all state-required background checks.
