Accounting Clerk

Description We are seeking a Part-Time Accounting Clerk in Newport News, Virginia. This role involves supporting our finance team within the dairy farming industry. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity and will be based in our office location. Responsibilities: Accurately process and enter different accounts into the system Maintain and update financial records to ensure accuracy Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks Perform data entry tasks with a focus on numeric data Assist with the resolution of customer inquiries and issues Monitor customer accounts and perform necessary actions Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations Contribute to the overall efficiency of our accounting operations Adhere to all company policies and industry regulations Continuously improve processes and procedures for better financial management.Requirements Must hold a minimum of 1 year of experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management is required. Demonstrated ability in Data Entry, specifically Numeric Data Entry, is essential. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
