Job DescriptionAs a Shipfitter, you will ensure that all tasks are completed safely and meet quality standards. Your responsibilities will include laying out, fabricating, and bracing metal structural parts such as plates, bulkheads, and frames. You will position parts within the hull of the ship, align them accurately, and secure them in place for welding. Furthermore, you will install various structural accessories, prepare molds for nonstandard parts, and may perform tack welding and shaping of heavy metal parts using shop machinery.

3+ year Repair Experience Required

Ability to read blueprints

Tack Welding

Torch cutting/grinding and burning experience

Familiarity with shipbuilding safety procedures
