Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of behavioral and medication management, data collection, and implementing individualized training for persons with intellectual disabilities
Ability to read, write and understand English for documentation purposes
Knowledge of the rights of individuals receiving services
Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with peers
Exercise sound judgment in making decisions to ensure the safety and health of individuals served
Ability to complete assigned paperwork and write precise support logs
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED equivalency (Preferred)
Driver's License Required
A minimum of (1) year of work or volunteer experience supporting with people with intellectual disabilities.
Experience working with individuals that display challenging behaviors
Certifications in CPR, First Aid, Therapeutic Options and Medication Management are required
Ability to stoop, bend, stand and lift at least 50lbs
Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license, a copy of a current driving record from DMV, submit to and pass a random drug screening, criminal background investigation and a registry check by the Department of Social Services
Certifications are required for Therapeutic Options, First Aid, CPR and Medication Management
Random drug testing is required
