DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Data Scientist to support our work with NAVAIR PMA-275 for the V-22 LOG-IT Portfolio. This position will work to develop and implement data analytics techniques and applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.This is a fully remote position. An minimum of an active Secret clearance is required.This candidate will:

Work in cross-functional teams with data at all stages of the analysis lifecycle to derive actionable insight.

Translate mission needs into end-to end analytical approaches to achieve results.

Perform the pre-analytics areas of data collection and understanding, data cleansing and integration, and data storage and retrieval.

Determine the appropriate analytics based on the data and the desired outcomes, using techniques including feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence.

Interpret the validity of results and communicate the meaning of those results.

Have familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages, including analytics methods for big data.

Follows a scientific approach to generate value from data, verifying results at each step.

Develop technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following preferred fields: Computer Science, Aeronautics, Engineering, Data Science.

10+ years of relevant experience.

Required Technical Skills:

Knowledge of probability, statistics, and machine learning.

Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau.

Familiarity with cross-platform maintenance and operational tasks with capability to develop reliability-centered solutions to enhance overall performance.

Perform comparative analysis to gain knowledge of common degraders to aviation mission requirements and employment of mechanisms to identify alternative solutions/improvements to increase aircraft readiness.

Understanding of data driven analytics and employing those abilities to identify improvement strategies.

Collaborate to conduct extensive reviews of data to establish parameters and improvements for flight safety.

Ability to scrutinize data utilizing specific tooling to extract and analyze information from large datasets to support analytics objectives.

Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.

Worked in a medium to large-scale project in support of a government entity using CM tools (Atlassian, Gitlab/Github).

Required Personal Skills:

Able to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.

Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

Have effective customer service skills to interface with government customers.

Able to effectively communicate with Customer, command staff, and peer contractor personnel.

Operates standard computer-based business tools (including Microsoft Office Suite).

Able to demonstrate clear and concise written communication skills in a technical format to support in the development of all required plans and reports required of the program.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
