Job Overview:
The Production Team Member is responsible for safe production of quality products ensuring that customer orders are being filled efficiently, effectively, on time, and without errors. Team Members operate equipment, assemble product, perform quality inspections, actively participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will focus primarily on cutting fiberglass board for production.
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain various machinery, tools, and equipment in the production department
Follows job related Quality Control and Production checklists
Report any defects, deficiencies, or process issues to Production Supervisor immediately.
Consistently be on time and ready to work (at station when shift starts and breaks end)
Follow work instructions at each operation to ensure consistent product is manufactured and assembled.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Maintain and improve production facility housekeeping and cleanliness
Work with Production Supervisor to understand, learn, and embrace Lean/Continuous Improvement tools and concepts concerning safety, quality, production, 5S, and other measures.
Actively follow 5S (maintaining a consistent and orderly workspace at all times for increased safety and efficiency).
Communicate with fellow Team Members any issues that arise throughout the production process.
Supports all departmental and organizational improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Ability to work well within a team.
Maintain positive attitude and be open to accept new ideas and change
Ability to communicate well with others, including fellow Team Members, Supervisors, and Managers.
Follow all company policies and must participate in and successfully complete required training
Adhere to company philosophy and values
Other tasks as assigned by Production Supervisor or any other member of management
Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, use of hands to inspect parts, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talking and hearing.
Manufacturing/factory setting: Occasional disagreeable elements present part of the time, such as heat, cold, dampness, dust, noise, and the presence of odorous chemicals.
Ability to lift 70 lbs. repetitively.
Experience & Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent
Experience using hand and power tools
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment
OSHA 10 certification preferable but not required.
A valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DMV motor vehicle check
The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check
The ability to legally work in the United States
Work Location: On site; 3017 Vernon Road, Richmond VA 23228
Rate of Pay: Starts at $19.25/hr. After successful completion of 90 day training, increase to $20.75/hr
