Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial procedures, preparing company reports, and ensuring financial compliance. This role forms part of a dynamic team, focusing on accounts payable and receivable, tax filings, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements and reports to ensure accurate and timely information is available for management Work across departments to resolve issues related to the financial reporting system and financial processes Prepare and file tax returns and assist with compliance reporting as needed Analyze accounting records, general ledger, and subledgers for accuracy Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations Monitor and report compliance with Company SOPs Assist with external audits Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required Experience with Bank Reconciliations is essential Must have working knowledge of General Ledger management Familiarity with Journal Entries creation and maintenance is required Must have experience with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting activities Familiarity with Oracle software for accounting functions Must be capable of using QuickBooks for various accounting tasks Experience with SAP for managing accounting operations is necessary.
