The Health Information Management Specialist works with minimal supervision to support the efficient management of patient information utilizing all file systems within the Health Information Management department.
Processes requests in accordance to state codes, federal regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
Processes/scans discharged records in accordance with the productivity standard of each year's scanned images average.
Upholds security and confidentiality regulations for record access and review. Alerts HIM management and/or Risk Management of unusual and / or unclear requests.
Appropriately retrieves electronic medical records for hospital staff and external customers upon request.
