We are seeking a skilled and reliable Spray Technician to apply high-durability polyurea and polyurethane coatings—commonly known as “truck bed liner” materials—to themed props, scenic elements, mini-golf obstacles, signage, and large fabricated pieces used in theme parks, family entertainment centers, laser tag arenas, and immersive attractions.
This role does not involve spraying trucks. Instead, you’ll be applying industrial-grade coatings to foam, wood, fiberglass, and fabricated structures to create durable, long-lasting themed elements for entertainment environments.
Key Responsibilities

Prep scenic pieces, props, and fabricated elements (foam, wood, metal, fiberglass) for coating.
Sand, mask, fill, and clean surfaces to ensure proper adhesion.
Identify and correct imperfections before spraying.
Polyurea/Bed Liner Spray Application
Apply spray-on polyurea/polyurethane coatings to:
Mini-golf props and obstacles
Theme park scenic elements
Laser tag arena theming
Large-scale foam sculptures
Immersive attraction components
Control coating thickness, texture, and uniformity.
Adjust spray patterns and equipment settings depending on material type.
Monitor cure times and environment for optimal finish quality.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Operate high-pressure or low-pressure spray systems safely and accurately.
Maintain sprayers, hoses, guns, PPE, and ventilated spray areas.
Mix coating materials to exact specifications and log material usage.
Troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.
Quality Control
Inspect finished work for even coverage, durability, and texture consistency.
Touch up areas with thin spots, runs, or surface defects.
Notify supervisors of any material or process issues.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all PPE protocols (respirator, suit, gloves, eyewear).
Maintain safe handling of chemicals and follow SDS guidelines.
Ensure workspace cleanliness and proper ventilation.
⸻
Required Qualifications
Experience with polyurea, polyurethane, bed-liner-style coatings, or similar industrial spray applications (preferred but not required for the right candidate).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality scenic finishes.
Comfort working with foam, wood, fiberglass, and mixed materials.
Ability to handle physical shop work, including lifting, sanding, masking, and prepping large pieces.
Reliability, consistent work habits, and ability to follow detailed processes.
⸻
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in scenic fabrication, prop finishing, auto body, or industrial coatings.
Knowledge of themed entertainment, attractions, or fabrication workflows.
Ability to read simple shop drawings or work orders.
Any relevant safety certifications.
⸻
Work Environment
Fabrication shop setting with dedicated spray booth.
Projects include a variety of themed props and scenic structures for entertainment venues.
Exposure to chemicals and coatings (PPE required).
Fast-paced, creative environment with unique one-off pieces and production runs.
⸻
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate or salary based on experience.
Overtime available depending on project load.
Growth opportunities into finishing lead or scenic specialist roles.
