Exhibition Manager
SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, is seeking an experienced Exhibition Manager to join our exhibition team serving the optics and photonics industry. With technical exhibitions spanning from small table-top exhibits to multi-faceted exhibitions of 1500 exhibitors occupying over 200,000 sq ft. in the course of a week, this is a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Description of duties
The Exhibition Manager will be responsible for the project management of small to medium sized exhibitions as well as work as part of a team on large exhibitions. Responsibilities include planning, developing, organizing, documenting, and implementing best practices along a critical path timeline. You will recommend exhibition specific budgets and strive to meet the objectives, both financial and non-financial, of the event. Manage exhibition-specific logistics in relation to the overall event within space constraints, provide appropriate application of resources to efficiently, and effectively implement the event. In collaboration with team members, the successful candidate will be responsible for communications with exhibiting customers and service contractors. The position is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of exhibition coordination for exhibitions without a designated coordinator.
We are looking for a customer-oriented self-starter who takes initiative, has proven meticulous attention to detail, and takes pride in troubleshooting and problem solving.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Adhering to procedures, ensuring clear communication with exhibitors, processing contract changes, and coordinating with Sales and Accounting.
Invoicing, managing payments, maintaining database integrity, updating stakeholders, and organizing exhibitor activities.
Assist with visa invitation letters, file management, and preparing materials for shipment.
Education & Experience Requirements
4-year degree, or equivalent, relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience preferred or comparable experience in a manager role directly reflecting the competencies and experience in essential responsibilities listed above.
Minimum of 2 year direct leadership experience required (project manager, team lead, committee chair etc.)
Preferred extensive customer service background
Preferred Certificate in Exhibition Management (CEM) or equivalent

Compensation and Benefits package includes:
Competitive wages, annual discretionary bonus. Pay Range $64,900 to $97,400 salary.
Medical, dental & vision benefits provided (100% employer paid premium for the employee, 75% employer paid premium for the dependents).
Defined retirement contribution: SPIE provides an automatic 5% contribution PLUS SPIE offers UP to 5% matching contributions and 25% vesting each year, 100% vested after 4 years.
Paid Time Off plan beginning at 31 days per year.
