Patient Service Representative

Description We are seeking a Patient Service Representative for a contract position at a clinic in Key Center, WA. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of duties related to clinic front office tasks within the healthcare field. This includes handling patient check-ins, processing insurance referrals, and maintaining patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Responsibilities: Handle front desk duties such as checking in patients and taking copays Process insurance referrals and verify insurance details Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy rules Handle patient calls and address their inquiries effectively Update forms and handle office equipment such as scanners and fax machines Collaborate with the billing department to notify patients of copays and collect copays Utilize basic medical terminology to facilitate effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals Balance daily tasks, including handling missed calls redirected to the call center and managing patient traffic in the clinic Perform other receptionist duties as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.Requirements Proficiency in HIPAA Compliance and understanding of Patient Privacy Rule Experience in handling patient calls and addressing patient queries effectively Ability to manage patient check-in process smoothly and efficiently Knowledge of handling copays and understanding basic medical terminology Experience in insurance referrals and verifications Familiarity with receptionist duties, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
