I am a chef seeking a sous chef for a sorority at Washington St. University in Pullman, WA.
This hourly subcontractor position has a flexible start date, anytime from now until January 12th and goes through May, with potential for employment for the 2026/2027 school year if all goes well. It can either be full or part time and would assist in meal preparation Monday through Friday with 2-3 Saturdays per year potentially needed.
Qualified candidates must possess 2 years of food service experience, catering and baking experience is a plus. Food handlers license for WA is required. Reliable transportation is also needed. Background check will be conducted and references checked.
Responsibilities would include prep work, cooking a large variety of items, making sure presentation of dishes is exceptional, keeping a sanitary and neat kitchen, monitoring stock and putting away food orders, and restocking items as needed.
Most importantly having a kind and friendly attitude with the house and able to provide exceptional customer service.
Pay: starts at $22 an hour, DOE
All universities holidays will be paid.
Parking spot will be provided.
Chef jackets will be provided, but nonslip shoes and knives will not be.
