The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on General Manager to lead our business through its next phase of growth in our office located in the greater Seattle, WA area. This role offers the chance to shape company culture, drive operational excellence, and lead both office and field teams in a dynamic, high-impact environment. You will oversee all aspects of drilling operations—from financial management and personnel development to safety, compliance, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients and, when necessary, provide technical drilling expertise to support scope development to deliver detailed, competitive project estimates
Effectively manage job costing and maintain a clear understanding of profit margins to ensure financial performance and project success.
Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and equipment utilization
Lead and inspire cross-functional teams across office and field operations
Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, and performance metrics (KPIs)
Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
Support recruitment, retention, and career development initiatives
Mentor staff and promote technical growth across the organization
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines
Oversee Drilling and Project Managers, as well as support staff including office personnel, mechanics, and welders; assist with project planning and coordination as needed.
Drive business development and cultivate client relationships
Analyze market trends and lead branding and marketing efforts
Manage Well Licenses and Compliance
Qualification & Skills
Strong proficiency in project estimating, job costing, and Excel skills to support accurate budgeting and financial planning
Requires a strong foundation in geotechnical and environmental drilling, along with basic mechanics
Proven leadership experience, ideally in geotechnical or environmental drilling
Strong business acumen with a track record of driving growth and efficiency
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Success in business development and client satisfaction
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
