The mission of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Department of Public Safety is to protect life and property, maintain order, investigate crimes, enforce all applicable laws and ordinances, protect natural resources, enforce Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Fishing, Hunting, and Forest codes, investigate violations, arrest and issue citations on violators within the boundaries of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Reservation and within the boundaries of the Point No Point Treaty Area.

The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, originally known as the Nux Sklai Yem or The Strong People, are descendants of the Salish peoples with ancestral ties to the Kitsap Peninsula that date back at least 1,000 years. Many of the Port Gamble S’Klallam’s members—totaling over 1,400—live on the Tribe’s reservation, which is located on the northern tip of Kitsap County in Washington state, near the neighboring towns of Kingston, Poulsbo, Indianola, Hansville, Port Gamble, and Bainbridge Island.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Care Program Coordinator shall recruit, train, and certify the Tribally foster care and kinship licensed homes and initiate the claiming of federal funds under Titles IV-E when applicable. This position will recruit new foster homes, while providing support and assistance to current foster homes/relative placements. This position will work closely with the Child Welfare Team and the Kinship Program Manager.
