Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for Dangerous Goods Data Stewards to join our Transportation, Warehousing & Logistics Dangerous Goods team in Seattle , Washington !Transportation, Warehousing & Logistics (TWL) supports operations and strategy in logistics, warehousing, and packaging engineering. Joining Transportation, Warehousing, and Logistics (TWL) will introduce you to the company’s many operations requiring logistics support, especially the management of dangerous goods in transportation. Dangerous Goods across the company have high visibility with multiple multi-year projects in work that will transform dangerous goods oversight and improve risk reduction. This role will support dangerous goods parts classification and data management activities across the Boeing Enterprise. This role supports both Boeing Military and Commercial Programs. Limited travel may be required to another Boeing site and/or Supplier locations. Reviews and analyzes Dangerous Goods (DG) data to ensure compliance with regulations, including 49 CFR, ADG, ADR, CA TDG, NZ TDG, ICAO/IATA, IMO/IMDG

Uses business and information systems as required to access data to determine material characteristics.

Maintains business and information systems by flagging dangerous goods

Develops dangerous goods packaging plans using established packaging guidelines

Inputs dangerous goods packaging plans into business and information systems

Evaluates new materials & parts for dangerous goods properties

Classifies new materials to determine proper shipping name in accordance with applicable regulations

Assists more experienced employees to develop, test and document packaging designs for dangerous goods as required by applicable regulations and engineering specifications.

Develops, maintains and reports records of packaging designs, specifications, exemptions and shipments as required by regulatory agencies.

Through participation on various committees, develops business unit policies, procedures and standards for packaging.

Provides reports & metrics to leadership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

1+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments

1+ years of experience processing dangerous good shipments for both surface and air

1+ years of experience do you have reading and interpreting Engineering drawings, specification sheets and/or safety data sheets (SDS)

1+ years of experience in in making a determination to an item’s classification of dangerous goods

1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

1+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables

Must be willing to travel domestically as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree in related field

3+ years of experience interpreting Dangerous Goods regulations

3+ years of experience classifying Dangerous Goods in Transportation

1+ years of experience analytical and design skills

1+ years of experience critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Typical Education/Experience:Related work experience, relevant military experience, or advanced degree preferred, but not required.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
