Receive, issue and maintain an inventory of prepared foods, recipe ingredients, grocery items and supplies for the dining unit or market on the University of Washington campus and support the unit(s) by assisting where needed.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Receive ordered materials from loading dock; check purchase receipts and invoices; return damaged goods; and stock shelves

Merchandise unit (dry, refrigerated and frozen) in accordance with unit standards.

Fill and receive day-to-day requisitions from Cafes and advise students and staff on questions regarding inventory in stock

Issue food items and supplies

Maintain compliance with state and institution policies regarding receipt, issuance and inventory of supplies, materials and equipment; notify superior when necessary to reorder inventory

Maintain inventory and ordering records and/or cost records and periodically take physical inventories

Store merchandise received in refrigerators, freezers or storage rooms according to inventory storage locations and food handling guidelines. Rotate stock so that older items are used first

Rearrange stock to accommodate inventory movement and use hand dollies and pallet jacks to move stock and equipment

May drive university vehicle to transport product from Central Storage/other units

Maintain stockroom and perform custodial duties in stockroom areas

May participate in disposal of surplus materials

Perform related duties as required, including cashiering, preparation and service of food in the various concepts during rush periods or when there are staff shortages

Perform data input into CBORD FSS system following established protocols, including orders, invoices, inventory, and transfers. Identify and escalate suspected errors or issues to manager or Dining Systems.

Generate and print reports or worksheets from CBORD FSS system, including order guides and tally sheets.

Take inventory counts using tally sheets from CBORD FSS system.POSITION DIMENSIONS

Position involves lifting and working in extremely hot and cold environments. Knowledge required is beyond regular stockroom work in that the position must know how foods are received and stored, considering expiration date, appearance and temperature.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six months of full-time experience as a Stockroom Attendant I OR equivalent education/experience.Specific Position Requirements

Experience that demonstrates success:

Handling food and perishable products safely

Driving small trucks and vehicles on highly congested streets

Working independently by following written procedures and instruction

Multi-tasking in an environment where there is simultaneous interaction with staff and customers

Working in an environment where there is daily interaction with a diverse group of staff and customersCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

A satisfactory outcome from the employment reference check processes and education verification

Food Worker’s Card required within two weeks of employment and maintenance of the valid card thereafter

Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Washington Driver’s License. (This position may drive a university vehicle to transport product from Central Storage/other units)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently

Ability to walk up to 45 minutes at a time for up to 7 hours a day, varying stance and postures

Ability to push and pull with 30 pounds of force frequently

Ability to perform repetitive arm, hand and wrist motions on a frequent basis
