Michael’s Custom Upholstery LLC is an upholstery shop with over 50 years of experience dedicated to high-quality craftsmanship and excellent customer service. Located in Pierce County, Michael's Custom Upholstery LLC is known for its quality in workmanship, customer service, and attention to detail by its customers since 1973.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Fully Skilled Upholsterer(s) as well as an Upholstery Sewer/Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various fabrics and materials. Seeking employees knowledgeable in basic math skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an Upholsterer or Upholstery Sewer in the following sectors: commercial, residential, marine, automotive, aircraft and custom fabrication. Twenty (20) years of experience of custom builds and commercial fabrication is a plus
Proficiency with common upholstery tools, including air-powered staplers, drills, foam cutters, hand tools, tack pullers, scissors, etc.
Ability to cut, sew, work with various upholstery materials or other products according to designs, patterns, work orders and minor furniture repairs
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Physical ability to lift furniture of various weights
Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods
Experience with commercial sewing machines and hand sewing
Looking to fill full time and/or part time positions with the opportunity to move into a permanent offering with higher pay and benefits. Piece Work is also offered when available. Piece work pay based on actual job requiring piece work. Full time crew will work Monday through Thursday (4x10's).
