We are accepting applications for an experienced paint technician to paint gates and other ironwork for a well-established company, in business for over 40 years.
We specialize in fabrication and installation of automated iron gates. All components are fabricated in our own shop.
We are looking for someone with experience in industrial coatings such as polyester-epoxy, two-part primers, and polyurethane topcoats. Candidates need to understand the basics of preparing surfaces for finishes and well as experience is spraying metals in a paint booth with an HPLV system. Technique is the key to quality finishes so experience is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application of liquid coatings on steel components in a paint booth using HPLV spray equipment.
Multi-coat finishes using two-component finishes, primarily polyester-epoxy and polyurethane. Sometimes other finishes are used to meet project specifications.
Though most of the surface preparation for painting is done by shop help, you will need to perform some preparation work from time to time.
Inspection of surfaces prior to painting is necessary to ensure conditions are suitable for painting.
Occasionally, but not often, on-site touch-up painting is required. Most of your time will be working in our shop.
Responsible for maintaining high quality finishes.
Coordinating with our purchasing department for the procurement of paint and paint supplies, including ordering of special colors to match the project requirements.
Produce draw-down samples for approval by the customer, when needed.
Cleaning up of painting equipment and paint area is a priority.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience applying liquid coatings in a high-quality environment using HVLP system.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Five-gallon buckets of paint are carried regularly.
Ability to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day.
Dependable transportation. Must be able to get to work on time Monday thru Friday with the possibility of overtime.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Ability to work well with others with a positive attitude that contributes to a positive work environment for everyone.
Must have Washington State driver’s license with clean driving record. Driving a company vehicle to pick up supplies and visit job sites is required.
Must be able to pass a drug test prior to hiring.
Willing to submit to a criminal background check.
