Join Our Team as a Front End Manager at The Markets!
The Markets is seeking a friendly, experienced, and reliable Front End Manager to lead our checkout operations and front-end team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll ensure excellent customer service, smooth store operations, and a positive work environment.
Retail management experience is required. Experience with grocery operations and unionized staff is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Front-End Team: Supervise cashiers and assign shifts, manage schedules, and ensure proper staffing during peak hours.
Oversee Checkout Operations: Ensure accurate cash handling, register reconciliation, and smooth customer transactions. Handle returns, exchanges, and any transaction issues.
Act as a Leader on the Floor: Step in as the point of contact in the absence of the Store Manager, addressing operational or staff issues promptly and professionally.
Train & Develop Staff: Mentor front-end employees on customer service, store policies, and operational procedures.
Maintain Store Standards: Ensure the front-end area is clean, safe, and welcoming. Uphold sanitation, security, and safety standards at all times.
Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with grocery, DSD receiving, and other store areas to maintain smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in retail or grocery management, supervising front-end operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of cash handling.
Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Dependable, organized, proactive, and customer-focused.
