Front Counter – Sales/Service
CUSTOMER SERVICE – This is THE number one priority.
Be a self-starter/self-motivated to grow into the position with a positive attitude
Greeting customers as they enter the door
Asking what we can help them with and LISTENING to appropriately address customer needs -asking for help when necessary to ensure accuracy for customers.
Phone answering and routing to proper employees. Taking phone orders for lumber/metal/truss and making sure orders are turned in appropriately (we will go over the process and protocol)
Lumber/Metal orders –
Customers come in for lumber needs and metal (siding/panel and roofing) for their projects. Learning the inventory of store and yard to effectively and efficiently assist customers.
Learning what materials are special orders when customers inquire about materials.
Windows/Doors (this will come after starting and working for a while)
Store inventory/price tags/arrangement of store goods (manager directed to start)
Hardware – in warehouse to correlate with customer order pulling proper hardware
Cash register/making change
Learning charge accounts vs. regular cash/card pay
Working with contractor’s orders
Working with trucking dispatch for customers needing delivery on materials
Some cleaning involved (mopping, trash emptying, etc.) - this is something we all pitch in and do.
This position has room for growth both in position and financially

There will be more tasks and project type directives given once the employee has comfortably demonstrated the above tasks can be carried out with consistency and minimal error. (We are human and understand an occasional mix up).
