HVAC Testing, Adjusting and Balancing Technician

We are looking for a self-motivated, mechanically inclined individual with some experience in the HVAC industry to accept an apprenticeship position to be trained as an NEBB certified testing and balancing technician. This position includes physical and mental work on construction projects. You will work under the supervision of certified technicians with the goal of learning the trade and becoming certified.

Our apprenticeship program consists of two to three years of on-the-job training and various training days organized at our office throughout the year. After completion of the apprenticeship program you will be eligible to take a written exam that, if passed, provides you with an NEBB technician certification and the benefits that are included with that.

This position is mentally and physically challenging. You must be ambitious, self-starting and detail oriented.

You will be working on the final stage of commercial construction projects.

Our company provides services throughout the Inland Northwest, so travel is part of the position. All travel expenses are paid by the company.

Knowledge and experience:

This position requires proficiency in the following skills: Math, Computers, Writing, Communication and Blue Print Reading.

If you have a completed an HVAC course with a reputable trade school or community college, please include certificate of completion with your resume. This is not necessary, but nice.

You must be detail-oriented along with having excellent organizational and time-management skills, resulting in the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize time and resources accordingly.

Written and oral communication proficiency are required to perform the above duties and responsibilities.

Ability to climb ladders. Extended periods standing while working on construction sites.

Lift and carry loads in excess of 40 pounds.

Valid driver's license, with excellent driving record.

Safety/OSHA:

Perform work in compliance with federal, state and local requirements related to general safety, accident avoidance and Reporting. Follow company safety policies at all times.

Company sponsored retirement plan. This is a 401K plan. The company contributes based on the employee's gross pay, regardless of whether the employee contributes or not. Of course the employee can add to that within the limitations of the current law.

Paid vacations - There is a sliding scale based on length of employment. Generally starts at one week after a year and goes up to 4 weeks after 10 years.

Training - We have monthly training meetings in house. We also send key employees to conferences and other training opportunities to suit their interests.

Challenges - Working in various facilities with interesting mechanical and electrical systems where you can influence how the systems will function for the benefit of the customers. Big jobs, little jobs, everything in between.

Travel - You could expect, as a TAB Technician, to be out of town a few to several nights a month. Most projects are concentrated in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Eastern Oregon. When you become proficient you will be provided a company vehicle and, of course, your expenses will all be paid while traveling on business.
