Description

The Student Success and Engagement Librarian actively contributes to the Student Success and Instruction (SSI) team by supporting the implementation of departmental operations, initiatives, projects, and goals. The SSEI Librarian supports undergraduate and graduate student success by leading the department's engagement with co-curricular partners across campus.

Major Responsibilities:

Lead the department efforts for engagement around student activities such as New Student Orientation, First Year Student Engagement and other programs that support students and enhance student success.

Lead in the development and implementation of assessment initiatives aimed at improving information literacy instruction for undergraduates.

Guide the development of Library programming and initiatives supporting information literacy and academic student success.

As a member of the SSI teamDeliver course-related, course-integrated, and credit-bearing information literacy instruction both in person and online to enhance students' research skills and critical thinking abilities.

Collaborate on creation of instructional materials, for credit and noncredit-bearing instruction, through the entire instructional design cycle: analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate, with particular emphasis on the analysis and evaluation stages.

Develop departmental instructional content, learning materials, and objects that integrate information literacy into the undergraduate and graduate curriculum.

Stay current on best practices in information literacy and actively incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles through inclusive materials, instruction, and outreach strategies.

Monitor trends in scholarly publishing in relevant areas to inform the design and delivery of library services and functions specific to SSI's service portfolio.

With the SSI Team, contribute to the department's promotion of Student Success & Instruction services to the campus community.

Work closely with the Research Support and Engagement Team to collaborate on shared intra-departmental services, functions, and initiatives. This collaboration encompasses service development, delegation of responsibilities, and ongoing refinement for continuous improvement.

Serve and actively contribute to relevant committees, task forces, and working groups at the Library, University, regional, and/ or national level.

Engage in professional development / research related to the individual's assignment and/or the needs of the Libraries and the University.
