Correctional Officer II

Must have 1 year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a correctional office, probation/parole office, any US Military Service, police officer or in a criminal justice or related field. May also successfully completed coursework from a regionally accredited college or university in corrections, criminal justice or related field may be substituted at the rate of 1 year for every thirty hours of study. Must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid drivers license and a high school diploma or equivalent! Guard inmates in penal or rehabilitative institution in accordance with established regulations and procedures. May guard prisoners in transit between jail, courtroom, prison, or other point. Includes deputy sheriffs and police who spend the majority of their time guarding prisoners in correctional institutions. Must complete Divisions Training Academy which is 6 weeks of paid training.
