JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Medical College of
Wisconsin's Department of Medicine - Division of Hematology and
Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to
support the Hematology/Oncology and BMT Inpatient services located in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital, the Center for Advanced
Care, and other Inpatient Units. Our exceptionally talented team of MD
and PhD faculty, advanced practice providers, nurses, research, and
administrative staff are focused on patient centered clinical care and
research in the pursuit of better therapies for cancer and blood
disorders. Our expertise extends to all aspects of medical oncology
including treatment of solid tumors, hematologic (blood) cancers, bone
marrow transplantation and cellular therapies. We also strive to provide
excellent care for non-cancerous blood diseases, including bleeding and
clotting disorders. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a
member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to
excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety,
research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Ideal Candidate will be
an experienced APP or Clinician with a background in HemOnc/BMT patients
within an inpatient or hospital setting wanting to be part of a thriving
and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of
Wisconsin (MCW). In this role you will, Collaborates with
interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of
conditions requiring Hematology/Oncology/BMT intervention in inpatient
environment as a member of the HemOnc/BMT inpatient service. Writes
accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission
and transfer orders. Order, perform, and interpret screening and
diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and
documents information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as
identified by the Hematology/Oncology/BMT services. Facilitates and
communicates with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of
care across the continuum of care. Attend required training and meets
key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging
institution, CMS, and the Join Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes
for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in
the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires
information on the most current development and trends in the Physician
Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational
programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.
