The role involves technical specification, hardware selection, hardware/software integration, software development, testing, and documentation of systems. This role includes travel to customer mine sites. Key Job Responsibilities

Works within a team of engineers responsible for the development of technology for operator assist and autonomous features for Komatsu blasthole drills. Job duties in this role cover the entire product design lifecycle including requirement scoping, design, and deployment with field follow.

As part of the team, designs and supports products for blasthole drills including vehicle-centric automation and tele-remote operation.

Focuses on continuous improvement and support of drill automation products. Analyzes development requests and reported issues from customers, implements changes, and supports deployment of technology.

Travels to customer sites to assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and training of technology products.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Preference is Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Controls Engineering.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in sensors integration, programming, machine autonomy, and/or controls. Role and responsibilities can be scaled based on applicant’s experience.

Some formal education in programming (not necessarily a degree in programming).

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Customer focused mentality.

Creative, high energy, self-motivated and self-starter.

Ability to travel annually up to 10%.

Willingness to learn or try something new!

A strong desire to continue expanding one’s knowledge base. The team integrates advanced and emerging technologies. The role will be most successful with an individual who truly enjoys working on technology that they may not be familiar with but is willing to dive in and figure things out.

Additional Information

System integration involving controls programming.

Source code control (IE GIT)

Industrial communication protocols (IE RS232/422/485, TCP/IP, CANOpen, J1939, ProfiBus/ProfiNet, OPCUA, DDS etc.)

Control architecture design utilizing programming languages (LabVIEW, Python, C).

Installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting technology deployment.

Engineering documentation.

UI/UX development.

Customer Relationship Management software (i.e.: Salesforce)
