Job Overview:

We are urgently seeking a motivated HVAC and Service Maintenance Technician to join our growing team at Burkhardt Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electric. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate or HVAC apprentice eager to learn and grow in the field of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. In this role, you will assist experienced technicians in servicing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems, and provide top-notch customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with HVAC Installations: Work alongside senior technicians to install heating and cooling systems in residential and commercial properties.

- Service & Repairs: Help troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC units, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and more.

- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.

- Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service, including explaining work performed to clients and answering basic questions.

- System Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools to identify issues in HVAC units and help resolve problems under the guidance of experienced technicians.

- Record Keeping: Accurately document work performed, including parts used and time spent on each service call.

- Parts & Equipment Handling: Assist with ordering and managing HVAC parts and equipment for jobs.

- Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure safe work practices on job sites.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED (Required).

- Interest in the HVAC field and willingness to learn on the job.

- Basic Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with tools and performing hands-on tasks.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to customers.

- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), bend, and kneel as needed during installations and repairs.

- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

- HVAC Certification (Optional): Apprenticeships or certification in HVAC systems is a plus, but not required for entry-level applicants.
