This position operates an excavator for a variety of functions - specializing or having experience in commercial and industrial is an asset. Pay is determined by experience and ability.
Responsibilities:
Operate equipment: Excavator
Ensure the safety of the crew
Maintain the use of machinery and equipment.
Must partake in daily hazard assessments and weekly toolbox meetings
Take corrective action to mitigate immediate hazards
Identify shallow utility locators when on the job site and ensure they are clearly understood where all buried utilities are.
Promote a team approach and maintain communication with all crew members.
Skills:
Excavator experience in commercial and industrial workplaces.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines.
Must have extensive knowledge of underground trenching.
Recognizes and understands the safe operation of heavy equipment and material handling
Good communication.
Must be a team player.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, and a valid driver’s license.
